On your device

Saved places, private notes, visit markers, travel preferences, your trip invitation key and the current view are stored in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to us, except as described below for shared trip lists.

If you choose a language, a cookie named vm-lang remembers it for one year. You can remove all of this by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Shared trip lists

When you enter a display name, save a heart or share a trip, the name, saved places, priorities and visit ratings are stored with our database provider (Supabase) under a random invitation key. Anyone with the invitation link can see and edit that list. Private notes are never uploaded.

Ask AI

When you use Ask AI, the guide information for the places you select, your question, your starting point and your dog or vegetarian preferences are sent to OpenAI to generate the answer. We ask OpenAI not to store the request. Private notes are not included. Please do not write personal details into your question.

Your IP address is used briefly to limit the number of requests.

Restaurant claims

If you claim a restaurant, your name, business email and phone, website, role and verification details are stored in a restricted review queue so we can check your connection to the business. They are not published and are not sent to OpenAI.

Hosting, security and statistics

The site is hosted by Lovable on Cloudflare’s network, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect against abuse. The platform may set technical cookies (__cf_bm for bot protection, __dpl for deployment routing) and a session-id cookie for its visitor statistics. We do not use advertising cookies.

Links and maps

Links to Google Maps, Trenitalia, museums, restaurants and other sites open those services under their own privacy policies. The optional street map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address.

Why we use it and for how long

We process this information to provide the features you ask for (shared lists, AI answers, claim reviews) and to keep the site secure. Shared lists are kept while they are in use; claim details are kept until the review is finished. You can ask us to delete a shared list or a claim at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your information, and object to or restrict its use. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
